Ryohei is the older brother of Kyoko, the current boxing club captain and the chosen Vongola Guardian of the Sun. He is always hyperactive and always takes things to a great level. He is physically stronger than any average human and he is adept to hand-to-hand, close quarter combat and can give and take huge amounts of physical damage. His favorite word and catchy phrase is “to the extreme”. He is always fired up whenever Tsuna and the others are up to something. With his nature of being enthusiastic and being hyper, he often rushes into situations without even thinking which resulted to him getting injuries. During his childhood days, he protected his sister from the bullies and ended getting a scar on the left side of his forehead. Because of this, he promised her that he won’t get involved in any fight. Ryohei also has issues in forgetting things.

Lussuria vs. Ryohei

In the Ring conflict, Ryohei fought against Lussuria in the battle for the Ring of the Sun. The battlefield was set in a ring filled lights, making it hard to see clearly with such strong lights. Lussuria, a member of the Varia, had the advantage in the battle because he is wearing glasses. Even without the favor siding with him, Ryohei still fought against Lussuria. Ryohei closed his eyes and Lussuria took the chance to attack him, but instead of attacking Lussuria, Ryohei directly attacks the lights on the ceiling breaking them using the salt particles from his sweat to attack. For his final blow, Ryohei used the technique he mastered from Colonello which is the Maximum Canon.

Adult Ryohei

In the future arc, Ryohei appears to Tsuna and the rest as his adult self and he is more mature and dependable. He managed to solve his problem in forgetting things by taking down notes on a paper. During their raid on the in Melone base, he fought against a member of the White Spell that uses a Storm Serpent as a box animal but he easily defeats it. He then fought alongside Gokudera against the Black Spell’s leader Ganma. But he was defeated.

Ryohei and Garyuu

After the meeting with Shoichi Irie, the Adult Ryohei switched with his younger self. He then was given his Vongola Box of the Sun and inside is his box animal which is a Sun-type kangaroo, Kangaryuu (though he often says Garyuu).

1st Generation Guardian of the Sun ring - Knuckle

In the Succession trial, he meets the 1st generation Vongola Guardian of the Sun ring, Knuckles. He is actually impatient during that time because he wanted to take the succession test. In order to burn out his anxiousness, Reborn ordered him to go intensive training just to “cool down” a bit. When Hibari refused to take part in the test, Ryohei persuasively convinced Hibari to take the test but ended up trying to fight out instead. But both stopped and helped to protect the school which was being attacked by the supposedly tutor of Hibari which is Viper, the Cloud Arcobaleno. Knuckle saw Ryohei’s resolved in taking on any trials head-on using his body and he then granted him the right to succeed his powers.

Ryohei's Cambio Forma - Knuckle's Maximum Break

In the fight against the Real Funeral Wraiths, Ryohei got injured while trying to protect Yuni. Still, he chose to fight against them for his resolve is strong. He then unleashed his Vongola Box and went into Cambio Forma. Garyuu shoots Ryohei with a Sun-based attack giving Ryohei a physical boost rather than healing. Garyuu then merge with Ryohei and transforms into boxing gloves which they call Knuckle’s Maximum Break.
